Acid Resistant Bricks are an ideal solution for lining vessels, chimneys, pits, and floors that are exposed to harsh chemicals and high temperatures. These bricks are made from high-quality fire clay, which is highly resistant to heat and chemicals. They are commonly used in industrial applications where exposure to chemicals and acids is common.
Characteristics
Acid Resistant Bricks made from fire clay are highly resistant to chemicals, abrasion, and high temperatures.
These bricks can withstand temperatures up to 400°C / 752°F.
They are highly resistant to all mineral acids, except hydrofluoric acid.
The bricks have high strength and low porosity, making them very durable.
Size: 230x114x64mm
To be used with Vitcas Acidcas Acid-proof Mortar
Applications
Power generation: These bricks are used to line the chimneys, flue gas desulphurization units, and other equipment in power plants.
Chemical industry: Acid resistant bricks are widely used in chemical plants, where they line tanks, reactors, and other equipment that come into contact with corrosive chemicals.
Petrochemical industry: They are also used in the petroleum industry to line distillation columns, furnaces, and storage tanks.
Food and beverage industry: Acid resistant bricks are commonly used in the food and beverage industry, where they are used to line tanks, floors, and walls to prevent contamination from acidic substances.
Water treatment plants: They are used in water treatment plants to line tanks and piping systems that are exposed to corrosive chemicals.
Other industries: Acid resistant bricks are used in a variety of other industries, such as pulp and paper, mining, and pharmaceuticals.
Setting Instructions
The bricks should be set with Acidcas Acid-proof Mortar, which is specially formulated for acid resistant applications.
Acidcas Acid-proof Mortar is a two-part system that includes a powder and a liquid.
The powder and liquid must be mixed in the correct ratio before use.
The mixture should be applied to the surface of the bricks using a trowel or a brush.
The bricks should be laid in the desired pattern and pressed firmly into place.
The joints between the bricks should be filled with the same Acidcas Acid-proof Mortar mixture.
The bricks should be allowed to cure for at least 24 hours before use.
Manufacturing Tolerance and Variations Please note that due to the inherent manufacturing process, there may be slight variations of +/-3mm in the size of the bricks. Similarly, subtle colour variations may occur between bricks, which does not affect the product's performance. It is also normal to find small chips on the bricks; this is not a product fault but rather a characteristic of the fire brick. These can be easily covered by Mortar or Cement, if required.
