Can the heat proof screed be used to make brick fire pit as an alternative to normal cement?

The heat resistant screed can be used in conjunction with refractory fire bricks as long as the joint thickness is 10mm or above. The heat proof screed can also be used instead of fire bricks with a minimum thickness of 25mm where the screed is in contact with the fire.
