CFA - Ceramic Fibre Adhesive-Vitcas
CFA - Ceramic Fibre Adhesive is a high-temperature, air-setting cement that is specifically designed for use as an adhesive for sticking ceramic fibre materials to brickwork, pizza ovens, or metal. This silica-based adhesive is ideal for use in a wide range of applications where high temperatures are involved, and a strong, durable bond is required.
Vitcas CFA Ceramic Fibre Adhesive is a high-performance, temperature-resistant adhesive designed to withstand extreme temperatures of up to 1400°C (2550°F). This adhesive offers superior bonding for ceramic fibre materials, including blankets, modules, boards, and laminates, to substrates such as brickwork, steel, and other metals. It also serves as an effective refractory coating to enhance the durability and thermal efficiency of high-temperature equipment.
Key Features of Ceramic Fibre Adhesive:
- High-Temperature Resistance: Withstands temperatures up to 1400°C, making it ideal for both industrial and domestic high-heat environments.
- Versatile Bonding: Bonds ceramic fibre blankets, modules, boards, paper, and mica boards to metal or brick surfaces.
- Easy Application: The adhesive is easy to apply with a trowel or brush, ensuring smooth installation for a variety of applications.
- Excellent Adhesion: Provides strong, long-lasting bonds even in continuous high-temperature exposure.
Applications:
- Furnaces and Foundries: Vitcas CFA is ideal for securing ceramic fibre insulation in industrial furnaces and foundries, providing reliable bonding in extreme temperature conditions.
- Kilns: Used in industrial kilns for setting ceramic fibre boards and blankets to brick or metal surfaces, enhancing insulation and heat retention.
- Metal Processing Equipment: Suitable for bonding insulation materials in high-temperature metalworking environments, ensuring efficient thermal control.
- Refractory Lining Repair: Serves as a versatile adhesive for repairing and coating refractory linings in cement plants, steel plants, and power generation facilities.
- Wood Fired Pizza Ovens: Ideal for installing ceramic fibre insulation in brick pizza ovens, ensuring better heat retention and energy efficiency.
- DIY Kilns: Perfect for small-scale or hobby kilns, providing effective adhesion and easy application of ceramic fibre materials.
Instructions:
- Prepare the surface: Ensure that the surface to which the ceramic fibre material will be applied is clean, dry, and free from any dirt, dust, rust, or grease.
- Apply the adhesive: Apply the Vitcas CFA Ceramic Fibre Adhesive directly onto the substrate, NOT onto the ceramic fibre. Use a trowel or a brush to apply a thin layer of adhesive evenly across the surface.
- Apply the ceramic fibre: Place the ceramic fibre blanket, module, board, paper, or mica board onto the adhesive, making sure it is properly aligned and positioned. Press it firmly into place to ensure good adhesion.
- Allow to dry: Allow the adhesive to dry completely, which can take up to 24 hours depending on the temperature and humidity levels.
- Cure the adhesive: Once the adhesive is dry, cure it by gradually heating the bonded materials to the required temperature. This process should be carried out slowly and carefully to prevent any cracking or damage to the ceramic fibre.
