Vitcas Silica Fibre Cloth is manufactured using vermiculite-coated silica fibres woven in a satin weave. The vermiculite coating increases the cloth's continuous service temperature to 1100°C / 2010°F and significantly improves its abrasion resistance and tensile strength. These properties make the cloth suitable for extreme high-temperature applications in industrial settings.
Key Benefits
High Temperature Resistance: Able to withstand continuous service temperatures up to 1100°C / 2010°F, making it ideal for use in extreme heat conditions.
Abrasion Resistance: The vermiculite coating improves the cloth's ability to resist wear in abrasive environments, enhancing its durability.
High Tensile Strength: The fabric maintains its structural integrity under stress, even when subjected to heavy loads or tough mechanical conditions.
Applications
Removable Insulation Covers: Used for turbines, engines, and high-temperature machinery, providing effective thermal insulation while allowing for easy maintenance access.
Heat-Resistant Expansion Bellows: Ideal for expansion joints in petrochemical plants and other high-heat industrial environments, accommodating thermal expansion and contraction.
Thermal Blankets for Stress Relieving: Applied in metal fabrication to ensure controlled heating and cooling, preventing warping or cracking during stress-relief processes.
Protective Shields for Kilns: Used as abrasion-resistant shields around glass and ceramic kilns, protecting from high temperatures and repeated exposure to extreme heat.
Thermal Curtains in Foundries: Deployed in furnace doors and foundries as heat-resistant curtains, containing heat and protecting equipment and workers from high temperatures.
Molten Metal Splash Protection: Used in foundries and metal processing plants to protect equipment and workers from molten metal splashes, offering thermal insulation and abrasion resistance.
Fire Curtains for Industrial Equipment: Used in smelting and steel manufacturing for creating fire curtains that protect equipment and personnel from heat, sparks, and molten metal.
Heat Shielding for Flare Stacks: Shields flare stacks in the oil and gas industry, protecting nearby equipment from intense radiant heat from flaring gases.
Steam Pipe Insulation: Applied to steam pipes in industrial facilities, maintaining energy efficiency while protecting workers from burns caused by high-temperature pipes.
