HRTA - Heat Resistant Tile Adhesive
Vitcas Heat Resistant Tile Adhesive, a ready-to-use tile cement, specially engineered for high-temperature conditions. This adhesive guarantees exceptional long-term tile retention where traditional tile cements falter. Featuring excellent bonding properties and a heat resistance rated up to 1000ºC, this ensures an easy and reliable solution for all your high-temperature tiling needs.
Vitcas Heat Resistant Tile Adhesive is a ready-mixed adhesive specially formulated to withstand the demanding conditions of high-temperature environments where conventional tile adhesives fail. This adhesive is specifically designed for long-lasting tile retention and is ideal for use in areas such as fire surrounds, kitchen equipment, radiators, and more.
Key Features:
- Ready-Mixed Formula: This adhesive is prepared for immediate use straight from the tub, providing a time-saving and hassle-free application process.
- High-Temperature Resistance: Developed to handle temperatures up to 1000°C / 1830°F, this adhesive remains durable and reliable in high-heat areas where standard tile adhesives may fail.
- Versatile Application: Suitable for use in a variety of high-temperature environments, including fire surrounds, fireplaces, stoves, behind boilers, ranges, cookers, radiators, and other heat-exposed areas. It is perfect for both residential and commercial installations that require durable, heat-resistant bonding.
- Compatible with Various Tile Types: This adhesive can be used with ceramic, terracotta, quarry tiles, mosaic, and porcelain tiles. For porous materials like marble, granite, or slate, proper surface sealing with Vitcas PVA Adhesive Sealer is required to ensure optimal adhesion.
Applications:
- High-Temperature Areas: High-Temperature Areas: Ideal for tiling around fireplaces, stoves, cookers, chimneys, furnaces, and other surfaces exposed to intense heat. Perfect for use in heating appliances, radiators, boiler rooms, and high-heat environments.
- Heavy Materials: Suitable for heavier materials like marble, slate, and other natural stones. Heavy tiles may require additional physical support during installation and curing.
In situations where the surface is uneven and a thicker layer of adhesive is required, it is recommended to first level the surface with Vitcas HB60 Heat Resistant Adhesive. Once the surface is properly leveled, apply the Heat Resistant Tile Adhesive for the best results.
Instructions for Use:
- Stirring: Thoroughly stir the contents of the tub to ensure even consistency before application.
- Priming with Vitcas PVA: Always prime surfaces with Vitcas PVA Adhesive Sealer for the best results. Seal the back surfaces of porous tiles or materials like marble, granite, or slate. For fresh cement or plaster, seal these surfaces with Vitcas PVA as well to enhance adhesion.
- Application (3mm): Using a Vitcas 6mm tile comb, apply the adhesive directly onto the prepared surface. Press the tiles firmly into the adhesive, maintaining a maximum 3mm adhesive bed for secure placement.
- Cleaning: Remove any excess adhesive from the tiles with a damp cloth immediately after application to prevent hardening or staining.
- Curing: The adhesive typically dries within 12 hours. Exposure to heat can accelerate the curing process.
Important Information:
- Indoor Use: This adhesive is formulated for internal applications only. For external projects, we recommend using Vitcas HB60 for weather-proof adhesion.
- Grouting: This adhesive should not be used as grout. For grouting purposes, use Vitcas Heat Resistant Tile Grout.
- Support for Heavy Materials: Heavy tiles and materials like stone, marble, or granite require additional physical support during both the application and curing stages.
