Vitcas CFC Chimney and Flue Cleaner is a high-performance cleaning agent designed to eliminate creosote, soot, and tar deposits from chimneys and flue linings, including stainless steel flexible liners. Regular use not only ensures internal cleanliness but also helps to prevent chimney fires. For optimal effectiveness, apply 2–4 scoops of the cleaner twice weekly.
Professional-grade creosote & soot remover for flue systems
Vitcas® CFC Chimney & Flue Cleaner is a specialist powder-form cleaning agent engineered for the maintenance of all chimney and flue installations, including stainless steel flexible liners. Formulated for high thermal environments, it delivers effective removal of creosote, tar, and soot build-up, which are common by-products of solid fuel combustion. Its non-corrosive composition ensures safe, long-term use without degrading flue materials or compromising performance.
Key features:
Non-corrosive formulation - Chemically stable and safe for use on all flue types, including stainless steel flexible liners
Efficient deposit removal - Rapidly dislodges and reduces creosote, soot, and tar accumulations
Light brown visibility - Powder's distinctive colour ensures clear identification during application
Fire prevention - Regular use minimises flammable deposits, significantly reducing the risk of chimney fires
Prolongs flue life - Maintains internal cleanliness, enhancing the operational efficiency of the chimney system
Applications:
Suitable for domestic and industrial chimneys and flues
Compatible with stainless steel flexible flue liners
Designed for use in solid fuel appliances, wood burners, multi-fuel stoves, boilers, and cookers
Preventative treatment for routine maintenance and fire risk reduction
Instructions for use:
Ensure that the fireplace, stove, or appliance is cool and free from excess ash or cinders.
Place two scoops of Vitcas® CFC directly onto a low-burning fire. Avoid using on high fires as elevated temperatures may reduce cleaning efficacy.
Allow approximately one hour for the powder to combust fully and interact with the deposit build-up.
For optimum results, apply 2-4 scoops twice per week. Increase frequency if deposits are extensive or persistent.
In large-scale systems (e.g., solid fuel boilers or oversized flues), double the dosage to achieve effective results.
You apply 2-4 scoops of the product twice per week for optimal performance. The scoops have to be put on a fire and subsequently this will cause the fire to vaporise the product into the chimney/flue and this is how the cleaning process works.
