VITCAS BFC - Black Fire Cement is a smooth paste that sets rock hard when exposed to air. It offers excellent adhesion to materials such as fire bricks, blockwork, stone, clayware, and most metals. VITCAS BFC black fire cement is ideal for minor repairs, sealing cracks under 5mm, and forming smoke and gas-tight joints. Resistant to high temperatures up to 1250°C / 2280°F
Uses:
Sealing metal-to-metal joints
Sealing joints between internal flue pipes and stoves, in combination with stove rope
Firebrick repairing and Firebacks' seals
Fine joints, and small repairs on fireplaces, ovens, boilers including other components of central heating systems.
Assembling cast iron stoves, gas cookers, and ranges
Instructions:
Ensure the area is clean and free from dirt, dust, rust, and grease.
Cut off the top of the cartridge, attach the nozzle, and trim to the required size.
Dampen the surface where the cement will be applied.
Use a cartridge gun to apply the material.
The fire cement will set at room temperature, but the process can be sped up by gradually applying heat over a four-hour period.
After curing, fill any fine cracks with additional fire cement to maintain an airtight seal.
