VITCAS Heat Resistant Board Adhesive – 310ml Cartridge, 1350°C

VITCAS BA Heat Resistant Board Adhesive is a ready-mixed, high-temperature adhesive supplied in a convenient 310ml cartridge. Rated to 1350°C / 2462°F, it is formulated for fixing and jointing compatible insulation boards, vermiculite boards, fireplace construction boards and high-temperature plasterboards in heat-exposed installations.

The adhesive provides a practical solution for assembling suitable fireplace and stove enclosures, sealing board joints and fixing boards to flat brickwork or blockwork where the gap between the board and substrate does not exceed 5 mm. For larger gaps or uneven masonry, VITCAS HB60 Hydraulic Bonded Adhesive may be more suitable.

Applications

• Fireplace and Stove Enclosures: Fixing compatible high-temperature construction boards in suitable fireplace and stove installations.
• Vermiculite and Insulation Boards: Bonding and assembling appropriate thermal insulation panels.
• High-Temperature Plasterboards: Fixing compatible boards to suitably prepared surfaces.
• Board Jointing: Sealing and bonding close-fitting joints between heat-resistant boards.
• Brickwork and Blockwork: Fixing boards to flat, stable masonry surfaces with gaps of no more than 5 mm.

Application Instructions

1. Prepare the Surfaces: Ensure all bonding surfaces are sound, clean, dry and free from dust, grease, loose material and contamination.
2. Prime Where Required: Prepare porous boards and substrates using the appropriate VITCAS primer or PVA Adhesive Sealer where specified for the particular board and adhesive system. Allow to dry as instructed.
3. Check the Fit: Dry-fit the boards and confirm alignment, support and joint dimensions before applying adhesive.
4. Apply the Adhesive: Using a suitable cartridge gun, dispense the adhesive and distribute it to achieve continuous, even bonding contact across the required surface or joint. Do not rely on isolated adhesive dabs.
5. Position the Boards: Bring the surfaces together, ensuring adequate contact and alignment. Provide temporary support where necessary.
6. Finish the Joints: Remove excess adhesive and finish the joints as required by the selected board installation system.
7. Allow to Set: Leave the adhesive to air-set and dry in accordance with the product instructions before applying finishes or exposing the installation to heat.

Important Application Information

VITCAS BA Heat Resistant Board Adhesive is intended for close-fitting board joints and suitable flat bonding surfaces. It should not be used for substantial levelling or filling gaps greater than 5 mm when fixing boards to masonry. For thicker bonding applications, consider VITCAS HB60 Hydraulic Bonded Adhesive, subject to substrate compatibility and its lower temperature rating of 750°C.

Please note: The adhesive's 1350°C temperature rating does not increase the maximum service temperature of the boards or other materials used in the completed installation. Always follow the applicable board and adhesive installation instructions.
