Boilers on boats and ships
For boilers on boats, we would recommend one of our Vitplast Mouldable Refractories or one of our Castable Refractories. For long journeys, it is essential to keep a bucket of refractory material on board for any repairs needed. In addition to this, insulation materials may come in handy such as Aluminium Foil/E-Glass Fiberglass Cloth.
Stoves on barges
Canal barges may have stoves on board which require maintenance, for which you would use all the materials we usually recommend for stove repairs, such as rope seals, rope adhesive, rope replacement kits and stove glass cleaner.
If you have a wooden barge, make sure you safeguard it against setting on fire by using our Vermiculite Boards. The vermiculite fire boards would need to be installed behind the stove.
