Aluminium Coated Insulation - Flue Wrap 1M x12mm -per Metre
Flue Chimney Wrap Insulation Blanket suitable for insulating flues and flue liners inside the chimney. Aluminium Coated Glass Fibre Insulating Mat will reduce risk of condensation, tar formation, as well as chimney fires and hence elongate the life of your flue liner and maximise its performance.
VITCAS Flue Wrap Blanket is a glass fibre aluminum-coated insulating mat designed to wrap around a flue or flexible liner inside a chimney. It helps to maintain higher flue temperatures, improving chimney draw and reducing condensation, which prolongs the life of the liner. The single-sided aluminum foil coating on the felt allows for the reduction of heat loss wherever heating ducts may cool down – the heat is delivered to the intended location. Additionally, the aluminum coating reduces the fraying of the felt and increases its mechanical resistance. This versatile, easily customisable blanket can be cut to the required length, making it suitable for a variety of chimney insulation needs.
Benefits of Using a Flue Wrap Blanket:
- Keeps flue warm for optimal chimney draw: The Flue Wrap Blanket retains heat inside the flue, improving chimney draw and minimizing the risk of condensation and tar buildup.
- Boosts stove performance: By increasing the flue temperature, the Flue Wrap enhances stove efficiency, ensuring better fuel combustion and heat output.
- Customisable to fit any chimney: Flue Wrap Blanket is easily cut the to the necessary length, making it adaptable for any chimney setup.
- Environmentally friendly & non-combustible: Made from non-combustible materials, this blanket is safe for high-temperature environments and the planet.
- Improves airflow & reduces chimney fire risk: The improved airflow inside the chimney helps reduce the risk of chimney fires.
- Prevents condensation & tar formation: Reducing condensation inside the chimney helps prevent the formation of tar, which can be harmful to your flue liner.
- Thermal shock protection: The Flue Wrap Blanket provides protection against thermal shock, preventing damage due to sudden temperature changes in the flue.
How to Install a Flue Wrap Blanket:
- Measure the circumference of the flue or liner that needs insulation.
- Cut the Flue Wrap Blanket to the required length using sharp scissors.
- Wrap the blanket around the flue or liner, ensuring a 2-inch (50.8mm) overlap.
- Secure the wrap using VITCAS Aluminium Foil Tape, ensuring no gaps.
- Inspect the installation to confirm it's secure, with no air gaps.
- Test the stove or fireplace to check that the draw has improved and the system is functioning efficiently.
