Vitcas® Fire Clay Bricks are high-temperature fire bricks engineered for exceptional performance under extreme thermal conditions, capable of withstanding continuous exposure to temperatures up to 1300°C (2400°F). These dense and heat-resistant fire bricks offer excellent thermal mass, mechanical strength, and resistance to thermal cycling-making them a reliable solution for both residential and industrial high-temperature applications.
Specially suited for wood-fired outdoor pizza ovens, these refractory fire bricks are also ideal for bread ovens, smokehouses, barbecue grills, fire pits, fireplaces, chimney linings, and log burners. In industrial settings, they perform reliably in metal forges, ceramic kilns, glass furnaces, boilers, heat treatment chambers, and other combustion systems. Their high thermal mass allows them to absorb and gradually release heat, enhancing energy efficiency and cooking consistency in pizza ovens and similar applications.
High Temperature Resistance: Rated up to 1300°C (2400°F), suitable for direct flame and prolonged heat exposure
Thermal Mass & Insulation: Dense construction with bulk density of 2200 kg/m³, enabling excellent heat retention
Alumina Content: Contains a minimum of 40% Al₂O₃, offering enhanced refractoriness and durability in corrosive and high-temperature environments
Mechanical Strength: High compressive strength of 39 MPa, providing structural integrity under heavy thermal loads
Low Thermal Conductivity: Approximately 0.9 W/m·K, minimising heat loss and enhancing insulation performance
Standard Dimensions: Each fire brick is 230 x 114 x 64mm (9" x 4½" x 2½") , with a weight of ~3.5 kg, ensuring modular installation in all refractory builds
If you are unsure of the quantity required, the Vitcas Quantity Calculator can be a useful tool to ascertain your needs.
Please note that due to the inherent manufacturing process, there may be slight variations of +/-3mm in the size of the bricks. Similarly, subtle colour variations may occur between bricks, which does not affect the product's performance. It is also normal to find small chips on the bricks; this is not a product fault but rather a characteristic of the fire clay brick. These can be easily covered by Mortar or Cement, if required.
