Ceramic Fibre Board is a vacuum formed product that resists higher gas velocities (inside the furnace) than ceramic fibre blanket. It is generally used as a kiln lining in ceramics and glass, around a forge or for boiler duct and stack lining.
These boards are lightweight so they don’t hold the heat and they have a very low thermal conductivity at high temperatures.
These boards are not appropriate for insulation in the home or in fireplace applications – please see construction boards and vermiculite fireboards for insulation boards in the domestic environment. For professional users only.
