Product Q&A

Question
Which surfaces can the red heat resistant spray paint cover?
Answer
The VITCAS heat resistant spray paint is designed for bare metal exposed to intermittent or continuous heat. It has been used for applications such as furnaces, space heaters, stoves, barbecues, pipes, flue systems, boiler casings, brake callipers, engine parts and exhaust components.
Question
What finish and shade does the paint produce?
Answer
VITCAS Heat Resistant Spray Paint – Red produces a satin red finish in RAL 3020. It is intended for those seeking a decorative high-temperature coating rather than a gloss finish. The final appearance depends on thorough surface preparation and the application of thin, even coats from the recommended spraying distance.
Question
How should the metal be prepared before spraying?
Answer
The surface must be bare metal that is clean, dry and free from grease and rust. Proper preparation helps the silicone resin-based coating adhere evenly and reduces the risk of a poor finish. Remove contamination and loose corrosion before spraying, and do not begin application until the prepared metal is completely dry.
Question
Does this heat resistant spray paint require primer?
Answer
The heat resistant spray paint is ready to use and no primer is required for most surfaces. It must still be applied to properly prepared bare metal that is clean, dry and free from grease or rust. Where the substrate or project has unusual requirements, confirm that direct application is suitable before coating the complete surface.
Question
Can I use red heat resistant spray paint on brake callipers?
Answer
Yes. The red heat resistant spray paint is particularly suitable for brake callipers because of its colour, provided the surface temperature does not exceed its continuous rating of 300°C. Remove rust, grease, brake dust and any loose existing coatings before applying the paint to clean, dry bare metal. Spray in thin, even coats and follow the stated curing instructions before returning the vehicle to use.
