VITCAS Zircon Paint Coating 1750°C
VITCAS Zircon Refractory Paint Coating. It has a creamy consistency and can be applied directly. For spray application, it has to be thinned with water. Its maximum service temperature is of 1750°C / 3180°F. For use on furnaces, ladles, ceramic fibre linings and refractories in contact with molten alloys and glass.
VITCAS Zircon refractory coating 1750°C / 3180°F. VITCAS Zircon Paint has a good resistance to the alkalis in molten glass and in metal slags. It is particularly effective in contact with aluminium alloys and can be applied to refractory bricks and alumina-silicate monolithic linings with equally good results. There is some evidence that zircon helps to reduce corundum build up.
Features:
- Zircon refractory coatings, like VITCAS Zircon Paint, are highly effective in extending the service life of kilns and other high-temperature industrial equipment. When applied to the heating area of tunnel and shuttle kilns, a 1-2mm thick coating of Zircon refractory coating can increase the service life of the kiln by 4-5 times compared to uncoated surfaces.
- In addition to extending service life, Zircon refractory coatings can also help save energy and reduce fuel costs by preventing heat energy losses through lining cracks and leaks.
- Contains zircon as its primary component, a highly refractory material that withstands high temperatures and resists the corrosive effects of alkalis
- Good resistance to alkalis in molten glass and metal slags
- Highly effective in contact with aluminium alloys
- Reduces corundum build-up
- Suitable for use in ladles, furnaces, launders, and other applications handling molten alloys
- Ideal for glass contact applications
- Seals and protects ceramic fibre linings, preventing the release of ceramic fibres into the workplace
Example of Applications in Industry:
- Aluminium: Highly effective in contact with aluminium alloys and reduces corundum build-up.
- Ceramics and Pottery: Seals and protects ceramic fibre blanket, boards, modules, and linings, preventing the release of ceramic fibres into the workplace.
- Iron and Steel: Saves energy and reduces fuel costs by preventing heat energy losses through lining cracks and leaks.
- Marine Shipping: Suitable for use in marine shipping applications handling high temperatures.
- Nuclear Energy: Withstands high temperatures and resists the corrosive effects of alkalis.
- Petroleum: Ideal for use in high-temperature petroleum processing applications.
- Pulp and Paper: Extends the service life of kilns and high-temperature industrial equipment.
- Sugar Refining: Can increase the service life of kilns by 4-5 times compared to uncoated surfaces.
Instructions:
- Before use, stir the VITCAS Zircon Paint thoroughly to ensure a uniform consistency.
- For brush coating, use the paint straight from the tub.
- If spray application is preferred, or if you are spraying onto warm surfaces, thin the paint with water.
- Aim for a thickness of about 1mm for optimal results.
- Avoid applying VITCAS Zircon Paint to metal surfaces.
- Ensure the surface to be coated is clean and dry, free from any oils, grease or other contaminants.
- To ensure effective application and optimal performance, Zircon refractory coatings like VITCAS Zircon Paint should only be applied to clean surfaces.
- For proper application and optimal performance, it is important to thoroughly clean any old refractory surfaces using a scraper or wire brush, ensuring the removal of all loose pieces and particles. In addition, glossy surfaces should be roughened with an abrasive disc to create a better surface for adhesion.
- Any cracks or holes should be cleaned and then filled with a thick Zircon refractory paste prior to application of the coating.
- Preheat the surface to a temperature of at least 200°C to ensure good adhesion of the coating.
- Apply the coating to the preheated surface with a brush or spray.
- Allow the coating to dry thoroughly for 24 hours at around 20°C.
- Gradually ramp up the temperature over several hours to avoid thermal shock to the coating.
Storage: Keep any unused material dry and store in a cool dry place away from children and pets. In case of contact with skin and eyes rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. After contact with skin, wash with water. Wear suitable gloves and eye face protection. Keep out of reach of children.
