VITCAS Heat Resistant Rope Seal Adhesive – 800°C

VITCAS RA Heat Resistant Rope Seal Adhesive in Black is a specialist, ready-to-use high-temperature adhesive developed for fixing stove rope seals, thermal tapes and ceramic fibre gaskets to compatible metal surfaces. Rated to 800°C / 1560°F, it is particularly suitable for securing black glass fibre rope seals around the doors of wood-burning stoves, multi-fuel stoves, boilers, ovens and range cookers.

The adhesive provides reliable retention of compatible sealing materials in metal door channels, making it suitable for stove gasket replacement and routine appliance maintenance. Its black colour complements dark stove ropes and metalwork, while the formulation develops an initial bond before further setting during subsequent heating.

Application Instructions

1. Prepare the Surface: Allow the appliance to cool completely. Remove old adhesive, dust, grease and loose material from the metal channel.
2. Shake Thoroughly: Shake the bottle well before application.
3. Apply the Adhesive: Dispense a continuous bead directly onto the prepared bonding surface.
4. Fit the Rope Seal: Press the correctly sized rope or tape firmly into position without stretching or distorting it.
5. Allow Initial Setting: Leave for approximately 15 minutes before closing the appliance door.
6. Complete Curing: Follow the manufacturer's curing instructions before operating the appliance. Further setting occurs during subsequent heating.

Please note: The adhesive's 800°C rating does not increase the temperature resistance of the rope or gasket being fitted. Select the correct seal size and material for the appliance. This adhesive is intended for securing sealing materials, not for filling damaged or oversized joints.
