VITCAS Heat Resistant Rope Seal Adhesive – 800°C

VITCAS RA Heat Resistant Rope Seal Adhesive in White is a specialist, ready-to-use adhesive designed for securing stove rope seals, thermal tapes and ceramic fibre gaskets to compatible metal surfaces. Rated to 800°C / 1560°F, it provides a heat-resistant bond for sealing materials used around the doors of wood-burning stoves, multi-fuel stoves, ovens, boilers and range cookers.

The air-setting formulation is particularly suitable for replacing worn or damaged stove door rope seals. It holds compatible glass fibre and ceramic fibre sealing materials in position, helping maintain effective gasket contact when the correct seal is fitted.

Application Instructions

1. Prepare the Surface: Allow the appliance to cool completely. Remove old adhesive, loose material, dust and grease from the metal channel.
2. Shake Well: Shake the adhesive bottle thoroughly before use.
3. Apply Adhesive: Dispense a continuous bead directly into the clean rope channel or onto the appropriate bonding surface.
4. Fit the Seal: Press the correctly sized rope or tape firmly into place without stretching or distorting it.
5. Allow Initial Setting: Leave for approximately 15 minutes before closing the appliance door, as directed by the product instructions.
6. Complete Curing: Allow the adhesive to set sufficiently before operating the appliance. Further curing takes place during subsequent heating.

Please note: The 800°C rating applies to the adhesive, not necessarily the rope or tape being fixed. Always select a gasket suitable for the appliance and its operating temperature. The adhesive does not compensate for damaged door components or incorrectly sized seals.
