Fireplace & Stove Maintenance
Fireplace & Stove Maintenance - Heat-Resistant Solutions for Long-Term Performance
Sealing, repair, and cleaning products for wood-burning stoves and fireplaces
Fireplaces and stoves are regularly subjected to extreme temperatures, thermal cycling, and soot or creosote buildup. To ensure continued safety and performance, these heating appliances require regular maintenance using materials specifically engineered for high-temperature resistance and fire protection.
Why maintenance is essential
Even when constructed with the correct refractory materials, fireplaces and stoves can degrade over time due to heat, mechanical wear, and combustion residues. Maintaining a stove or fireplace involves checking and replacing seals, reapplying protective coatings, and cleaning internal components to prevent blockages and maintain efficiency.
High-temperature sealing solutions
Vitcas offers several sealing products designed to withstand sustained high heat. For example, our heat-resistant rope seals are ideal for sealing stove doors and flue connections and can tolerate continuous exposure up to 550°C. These ropes are available in multiple diameters and are secured using rope adhesive formulated for fire-safe applications.
Specialised maintenance products
In addition to sealing ropes, Vitcas provides high-temperature grouts rated up to 1000°C, which are used for finishing joints around fireplaces and stove surrounds. Our stove glass cleaner ensures visibility and hygiene inside the combustion chamber, while chimney and flue cleaners remove creosote and soot build-up, helping to maintain safe airflow and prevent chimney fires.
All products in this category are formulated for use with wood-burning, multi-fuel, and biomass stoves as well as traditional open fireplaces.
Typical applications
- Replacing worn rope seals on stove doors and glass
- Resealing joints with heat-resistant adhesive and grout
